Back in August, 79 A.D., Mount Vesuvius erupted and filled the air with rocks and volcanic ash, turning the day into night. The city of Pompeii layed destroyed within 24 hours. It is estimated that around 16,000 people died in the eruption. It was discovered many years later that the volcanic ash acted as a preservative and many skeletons and buildings remained intact. Starting October 6, 2018 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, you can go and see Pompeii The Exhibition where there are over 150 authentic artifacts on loan from the Naples Archaeological Museum.
